CHORAL PERFORMANCE TRANSCRIPTIONS

Requiem Op. 48 - Gabriel Fauré arr. Rowen Fox for violin/viola, 'cello, piano and organ. Sop/Bar soloists with SATB choir

Created to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of World War I, this arrangement remains true to the spirit of Fauré's original (1893) chamber version re-imagined for an accessible ensemble.  

The Star of Bethlehem Op. 164 - Gabriel Rheinberger arr. Rowen Fox for flute, oboe/cor anglais, clarinet and piano. Sop/Bar soloists with SATB choir.

Rheinberger’s delightful christmas cantata is rarely performed outside Germany but deserves to be more widely known. With the aim of creating a more accessible performance version for community choirs, I created this arrangement from the orchestral original for wind trio and piano. A new translation brings the story alive for a contemporary audience. Scores are available to purchase in Choral or Piano Vocal editions, with performance parts currently available for hire.
